Janus Rasmussen
Исландия
Добавлен 23 янв 2019
The solo output of Reykjavik producer Janus Rasmussen can be best understood as a distillation of his many diverse collaborations to date. Janus has spent the last decade creating, performing, and innovating with other artists across myriad musical genres, amassing a wealth of experience and inspiration that’s now plainly audible in his own melodic brand of experimental electronic music.
Janus’s Nordic Music Council Prize-nominated debut album, Vín, saw him hone his minimal techno chops into an hour-long exploration of acoustic textures and electronic sound design that peaks and lulls like a well-crafted DJ set. In his most recent work, he meshes Vín’s dancefloor rhythms and dark sonic palette with his own vocals and a renewed focus on songcraft. While none of the individual elements here are new to Janus, their novel recombination and juxtaposition sounds like a purposeful statement of intent that runs counter to the prevailing current of electronic dance music.

Lovely stuff 👍
I've literally just been using this track as a reference for a new track I'm working on. So simple but works so well. Thank you so much for sharing this deconstruction!
This Lowpass on the kick really made me wonder when i randomly listened to looped in my car. It started quiet and i turned up the volume but then... the kick hit and was perfectly smooth to really vibe. I was like yeah probably something deep and layered. But yeah.. its just a filter on a generic drummachine kick. I suspected it was some acoustic layered with a sine wave kick or something. But no - its just that. Really nice sound. And nice to see you break "the rules". My mind was always like "nah, you cant do that. thats wrong. The transient is need to make it good" and stuff. But no. It sound fire and great.
Janus, make new studio tour, please! So interested in.
Love all the production videos. Thanks for the tips!
awesome song!
I love the new "John Wick" Janus! 🥳
Hi Janus ! do you still use it ? thanks you !
99% of the time yes, but sometimes a 5th away might work if the bass kick choice is destroying ones mind
Nice video🔥👏🔥 i upload producing tips too, so come check it when you are free!
Just don't use kicks in your tracks and the question will disappear forever xD
Heck yeah Janus!
HES BACK!! Cant wait for the album
should you make a video saying 808 sounds come from the 808 drum machine? yes, no, maybe
This guy looks and sounds so cool
Thanks for the Kiasmos release. I couldn't get enough of Thrown and Burnt ❤🎉

Please make more tutorials 😊 I don't even use Ableton but find them very useful!
What parameters are you tweaking at the end? Also is the effects chain on the channel or did you create it as a send. I tried recreating this but it doesn't come out quite the same. Thanks!
You can watch the whole video on my channel. It's much easier to see what I'm doing there :) ruclips.net/video/3-Yayu33LYM/видео.htmlsi=Tb30IxT-iKdBJsTG

Sounds great
i am just glad you are back! i mean i recognize the footage but i don t care! Hope u good, have a nice start to springtime <3
Yeah, I'll get back into making new videos now :D
Whoa, that’s really pretty! I really gotta spend some time playing with synths… I wish I used them more in my compositions but I always just end up spending ages going through all the presets, listening to a couple notes, press “next”, listen to a couple notes, and repeat. I never find THE sound I want, I always end up settling for something just ‘ok’ or giving up on using a synth completely :/
Thank you very much 🙌 You can try to tweak presets you like and take it from there. That's what I usually do when using soft synths :)
Bounce it to audio when you get close and go from there, it’s literally endless tweaking then. Stack it, parallel compress, delays/reverbs, send to different busses, whatever…. 👍
@@JanusRasmussen yeah that’s pretty much what I do too, just seem to spend so much time on it
@@SEFFOfficial you mean apply effects to the bounced audio track? Huh, I usually do that just to save on CPU but never thought of applying effects to the audio rather than midi when using synths. What kind of benefit is there to do effects through a bounced audio track rather than directly on the synth’s midi track? Ty for advice btw!
So glad you're posting on RUclips again. Have you done a video on how you think about rhythm? Or perhaps percussive sound design? Your grooves are so hypnotic.
Thank you ✨ No I don't believe that I have made such a video. I'm just getting back into things now.
😍😍😍
Welcome back bro, have been missing you🫶🏻
Thank you ✨ I've missed posting as well.
Beautiful
Thank you ✨
